- Important notes: HOLY GRAIL OF TWEEDS! The fabled high-powered tweed Twin... this 1959 example came to us from the grandson of the original owner from the Prairies of Canada. In the 60's, the amp spent some time on the road with the original owner who played her matching 59' 3-pickup Les Paul Custom in a country band. Then the amp remained stashed away until her grandson inherited it and played it himself at a few gigs before selling it to Roman, the younger Tone Brother. This 5F8-A Twin remains 100% original (save for a partial recap and a 3-prong conversion). Given this circuit's monstrous 80 watts of power output (monstrous for the era at least), these amps were typically heavily gigged, beat up, and often times, destroyed on the road; this is only the second time in our 30 years in the business of finding one in this condition; and this time around, we won't make the mistake of selling it!
